Les Mills International is a New Zealand company that is the world’s largest provider of choreographed exercise-to-music group fitness classes distributed to health clubs. The first Les Mills program was BodyStep, with BodyPump being the first program released internationally.
Les Mills International was founded by Phillip Mills and named after his father Les Mills, four-time Olympian and founder of the Les Mills World of Fitness chain of gyms in Auckland, New Zealand.
Beginning in the 1980s, Phillip Mills developed a series of exercise-to-music fitness programs that would later become the Les Mills Group Fitness programs. Mills developed them for use in the gym chain owned by his father in Auckland, officially releasing the first one, Pump, in 1990. In 1995, after experiencing success with Pump in New Zealand, Phillip Mills, with the support of his family and Bill Robertson, an Australian fitness industry leader, released Pump in Australia. Convinced by the product’s success in Australia as well as New Zealand and enticed by what he perceived as a gap in the health and fitness market worldwide, Mills founded Les Mills International in 1997 with the purpose of developing further programs and licensing them for use around the globe. The programs have expanded to more than 15,000 gyms and health clubs in 75 countries, with an estimated 90,000 Les Mills Instructors worldwide and an estimated 6 million participants every week attending a Les Mills class.

BODYPUMP™ is for anyone looking to get lean, toned and fit – fast. Using light to moderate weights with lots of repetition, BODYPUMP™ gives you a total body workout. It will burn up to 590 calories*. Instructors will coach you through the scientifically proven moves and techniques pumping out encouragement, motivation and great music – helping you achieve much more than on your own! You’ll leave the class feeling challenged and motivated, ready to come back for more.
Exercising muscles around the core, CXWORX™ provides the vital ingredient for a stronger body. A stronger core makes you better at all things you do, from everyday life to your favorite sports – it’s the glue that holds everything together.
All the moves in CXWORX have options, so it’s challenging but achievable for your own level of fitness. During the 30-minute workout trained instructors guide you through correct technique as you work with resistance tubes and weight plates, as well as body weight exercises like crunches, and hovers. You will also get into some hip, butt and lower back exercises.
RPM™ is a cycling workout that delivers maximum results with minimum impact on your joints.
Tune in to some great music and get your pedals spinning as your instructor takes you on a journey of hill climbs, sprints and flat riding. JUST GETTING STARTED?
Your seat should be level with your hip, and there should be a slight bend in your knee as you spin your feet around. If you need any help, your RPM instructor will show you how to set up your bike and all the basic cycling moves. You can start off with 4 or 5 tracks and work your way up to a full class.

During BODYFLOW an inspired soundtrack plays as you bend and stretch through a series of simple yoga moves and embrace elements of Tai Chi and Pilates. It features bursts of intensity where you work as hard as possible, followed by periods of rest that prepare you for the next effort. JUST GETTING STARTED?
You don’t need to be a cyclist, but you will need some level of fitness for a LES MILLS SPRINT workout. Don’t be afraid to dial back in your first few sessions, and just get a feel for what it is all about. If you’re finding things tough slow your spinning down, reduce the load or sit up and rest. We recommend two HIIT workouts a week as part of a balanced training plan.
